Apple iPad tablet launched to change the world of gadgets

Steve Jobs is in news and so is Apple Inc… Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about Apple’s much awaited and much hyped iPad tablet that has been launched with an amazing price range. Apple iPad is expected to revolutionize how people read newspapers, magazines, books and even how they watch television.

Besides creating an upheaval in the gadget market, Apple’s share prices showed an upward trend. So, after iPhone and the Macbook, it is iPad tablet that is the buzzing phrase and is being considered as the third category gadget. The aim of Apple Inc is to put iPad tablet into the hands of the masses.

Let me make one thing clear and that is iPad is not a mere replacement of iPod Touch or iPhone and it is also not a device away from laptop. This iPad sits right in the middle and is not for making phone calls and it has no mouse or keyboard, but it provides with excellent web browsing experience. The iPad users will be able to send email, read e-books, create albums and enjoy videos and all that at an affordable price.

The iPad is definitely lighter and thinner than any netbook or laptop as it is just half-inch thick and weighing not more than 1.5 pounds. One can work with this device both in landscape and portrait mode. The users of iPad can definitely download to read the latest novel and book e-ticket for the forthcoming movies, but it cannot make a phone call or click a photo at least for some time now.

The first generation of Apple iPad will be available in the market by the end of March 2010. The 16 GB model is priced at $499 while 32 GB and 64 GB will be available at $599 and $699 respectively.

There are two versions of iPad. One that is available with Wi-Fi and the other supports both Wi-Fi and 3G.

Wall Street Journal says, “Apple focused on the role the gadget could play in homes and in classrooms,” the WSJ reported, envisioning “that the tablet can be shared by multiple family members to read news and check email in homes.”.

Experts put their comments about the gadget in their own way:

• TechCrunch — MG Siegler provides pictures of the tablet that are so realistic-looking that they might even be pictures of the tablet.  There’s also a commercial floating around this morning created by someone looking for a job. Eyeballs beware today.

• Circuit Breaker (CNET) — Erica Ogg collates rumors about iPod-like docking connections, 3G connections, and publisher connections.  (Yes, yes, and yes, in case you’re in a rush.)

• Gizmodo — Dan Nosowitz adds that iPhone apps will likely port to the tablet easily.

• TechCrunch — Like a Barnes & Noble bookstore app, maybe?  Maybe.

• Boy Genius Report — Speaking of 3G rumors, Verizon apparently has told its employees to expect big news Wednesday.  Of course, that could merely be an ancillary rumor about iPhones appearing on other networks soon.  Silly, forgotten iPhones… don’t confuse matters!

• TUAW — The tablet has already been tasked with saving the entertainment industry as well as publishing, but did you know it’ll also resuscitate education in America?  There’s an app for that, apparently.  Michael Grothaus wonders if we’ll see a tablet on every desk soon.

• ReadWriteWeb — Of course, that will come after it’s done reducing health care costs and improving quality, according to Mike Kirkwood.  Don’t get pushy, kids… the tablet will heal all!

With lots of promises and expectations, we will have to wait and watch to what level the Apple iPad can meet this. I will keep you posted on this !

Apple Tablet – coming the zing thing !

Posted on 29 July 2009 by Ritz

Apple Tablet – Though its a new concpt and most of the features are still under veil but few features, it is anticipated to possess are:

•  It is expected to have a 10-inch touch screen display.
•  The OS will be somewhat similar to the one used in iPhone but will support larger screen resolution and higher version of iPhone applications.
•  Speculations say that this device might be free from a physical keyboard.
•  It will have a built in 3GS wireless access.
•  One interesting fight is the chip on which this device is based upon. Is it the Intel’s Atom chips or the customized chip made by PA Semi (A company that was taken over by Apple last year)

One million dollar question that revolves around this device is its price. Speculations say that it will be somewhere near $800. This project, being keenly monitored by Steve jobs himself is expected to go live in market in first quarter of 2010. But there are rumours which say Apple Tablets might hit the market as early as September 09.

The Tablet PC makes up 2% of the portable PC market.  If Apple were able to enter the market and match that 2%, given the amount of notebooks that they currently sell, they’d sell under 27,000 tablet PC’s per year.

As we slowly see the facts about the device uncover, we will keep you posted with the latest add-ons to it.

Update: On Jan 27th, 2010 finally Steve Jobs luanched the Tablet with the name ‘iPad’…. read more on this.

iPhone 3GS Review

Posted on 27 June 2009 by Sadhan

iPhone 3GS is here- Check out on its improvements!

With Apple’s CEO Steve jobs recuperating and is about to resume work there is no dearth of ideas and innovation to get launched and connected with people. After the initial success and buzz of Apple’s iPhone, the company has thought to launch an upgraded version with higher network speed, more memory storage capacity and definitely extended battery life and a mirror image of Apple iPhone 3G. It is iPhone 3G S that is now storming in news and views. Again, the launch of iPhone 3GS definitely coincides with the release of iPhone OS 3.0.

iphone-3gs But one must know that iPhone 3G S is indistinguishable from iPhone 3G if you keep both the handsets next to one another with face up. However, it is the phone internals that have undergone changes. Remember that the S in iPhone 3G S stands for Speed.

iPhone 3G S is redesigned with additional features with gaming capabilities scoring really high. One can now enjoy the cell phone features now in iPhone 3GS such as the voice dialing, video recording and multimedia messaging. From 2 megapixels, the iPhone 3G S is equipped with 3 megapixel camera and definitely improved imaging experience. RAM is doubled from 128MB to almost 256MB.

The phone is available in the market with two memory capacities, 16GB and 32GB. However some of the flip sides to this smartphone is the call quality that is still uneven as 3G reception remains bumpy. USB transfer or storage device is still a far cry. No multitasking, no flash, no java in Apple iPhone 3GS.

The bottomline therefore is should you buy this smartphone? also when there are other options like Nokia N97

Need to read on more to take a well informed decision.

Nokia unleashes N97 to challenge iPhone

nokia-n97The buzz on the mobile industry is the latest N97. The mobile giant Nokia tells people that N97 is the  company’s flagship model. If that’s true, then this little phone weighing not more than 150gms is sure  to be equipped with cutting-edge technology and appealing design. Nokia N97 is the ultimate mobile  computer for young professionals who juggles between work and play with a hungry for more spirit. Check out a short review on Nokia N97 as it gets launched targeting the Gen Next!

This slim-trim N97 is dominated by its 3.5 inch touch screen display with full slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a navigation pad on the left side. The look is a blend of many phones ranging from AT&T tilt phone to Google G1phone. But what makes it powerful is the amazing touch screen display with 16:9 aspect ratio, 640×360 pixel resolution and 16 million colors. Real bright and sharp pictures indeed! The phone does not look all that chubby and has the least number of function keys. On the top of the phone, there is the power button and a hole for 3.5mm head phone jack. Its altogether a much enhanced experience than Nokia N96

Internet experience in this Nokia N97 is awesome. You can simply stay connected as it has the ability to support websites including the social networking sites such as Facebook and Hi5 with its in-built web browser. Besides the fully operational web browser software, N97 comes with Nokia maps and a flexible widget system that helps you tailor make your own set of applications with complete ease.

Again, Nokia N97 comes with 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and dual LED flash. What is impressive about this killer iPhone is the fact that N97 comes with a whopping 32GB storage capacity with additional 16GB Micro SD.

Nokia uses Symbian’s S60-5th edition and supports HSDPA/3G and runs on Quadband GSM networks. Get the best with in-built Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the GPS system of N97.

However, the flipside to the high-end smart phone is its annoying small keys. However, this business phone will not disappoint its loyal customer base and definitely poses challenge to Apple’s iPhone and even Blackberry Storm.

So, if you love having the hottest and the latest in gadgets, Nokia N97 is for You with a Wow glance of envy from the onlookers.
